Just replacing the cable is a quite simple matter of just popping the housings off the headband, taking the plastic covers off, desoldering the stock cable and soldering in a new one. Could be a totally DIY cable, a semi-finished one, or a complete IEM cable from which you simply cut off the connectors. The last mentioned option could be tricky If you're on the limited budget I'd suggest the KSC75 with a Parts Express Headband ($2) and Yaxi pads ($12). I own the porta pros and kph30i as well but I find if I don't want to wear my DT880s the ksc75 is best for imaging/soundstage out of the 3 koss options. KPH30i with yaxi pads is my favorite out of the 3 for general sound though. They Good summary. I think the porta pros do everything right to an okay level that it makes them absurdly good value. I think their biggest strength in making them such good value is their very natural sound stage and the ability to image. Also, their function and form can't be separated. From what I’ve read, the Sporta Pro and the KSC35 share the same driver. They do visually look identical and I don’t hear any sonic differences though not like I’ve listened to the Sporta Pro critically; and I think that’s what these smaller Koss headphones are really about. Casual listening with an agreeable sounding response. Across the whole spectrum, that was all I changed. As far as I'm concerned, with that applied, it sounds as good as anyone can reasonably expect a sub-$200 headphone to sound. I may also cut the fabric in front of the drivers to bring out a little more sparkle, but that's a personal preference (I like bright). This is a review and detailed measurements of the KOSS Porta Pro on-ear headphones. It was kindly purchased and donated to the forum for review. It costs US $50. This is an ultra light headphone that folds into a very small package: You barely feel it on your ear and that is it. It is extremely comfortable for me. 944K subscribers in the headphones community. I've had koss porta pro headphones for 2 weeks and they're the best headphones I've ever had, definitely wanna maintain them. I noticed they got dusty recently and I imagine them being open back means you must have to clean in between eventually GRQGL.
